Hello, I’m Chris Clotz, a UI/UX, graphic designer who is located in Cleveland, Ohio.
My appreciation for design began at an early age. I was always fascinated by the logos and photography that I viewed in publications. To pass the time I would find a pencil and some paper and express myself by re-creating my favorite logos. This pastime grew into painting murals on my bedroom walls and eventually the walls of my dorm room in college. A graphic design student living in the same dorm noticed my work and explained what type of projects he was working on. Throughout our conversations I became convinced that this is what I wanted to do. The next semester I enrolled in the graphic design program and have loved it ever since.
During my career I specialized in branding, digital media, packaging, print collateral, product labels and trade show graphics. Experience working on projects in several different industries such as automotive, furniture, healthcare, industrial, medical and restaurant helped hone my skills and attention to detail. Designing for these various industries has also provided me with experience in creatively adhering to strict corporate brand guidelines.
I have been honored by earning awards from Graphic Design USA in the categories of: Advertising, Announcements / Invitations, Direct Mail, Logo Design, Corporate Identity and Packaging.
My background includes working with multiple team leaders and marketing managers which strengthened my skill of listening and understanding what is most important to the person, team and project. This experience has also provided me the opportunity to work on a project which included up to forty different languages.
The progression from graphic design to UI/UX seemed very natural to me and I'm eager to incorporate this new skillset and take on more responsibilities. I carry with me the same attention to detail, ambition and drive that I have had throughout my career. Now, a focus on creating user interfaces that are clean, well designed and provide an exceptional user experience is what I strive to accomplish. I am open to full-time work and in my next role I want to utilize my background and skills as a user interface designer.
